(Advice) If You Overthink

Overthinking is an unhealthy practice as it drains us of our mental and physical energy. It could lead to procrastination or even inaction. To combat this, here are some things you can do when you find yourself overthinking:

  • Keep yourself busy. Too much free time allows for unnecessary thoughts

  • Talk to people. Sometimes they help you realize it's not something to overthink about

  • Read the bible. It will give you a sense of peace knowing God is in control of everything

  • Ensure you have some money in your bank account. Knowing you can't go anywhere because you are broke will only exacerbate your overthinking.


Just telling yourself to stop overthinking will only make you overthink more. Engage in practical, substantive activities as it is the only way to combat it.
