When You Feel Like You Aren’t Getting Better at Something

I can't count how many times I've heard, "you have a lot of potential." At first that was great to hear, until I realized how long it took to full potentiate myself. The process was actually very frustrating, often leading to a feeling of rage and resentment towards myself, crying to myself, "Why can't you do it well already for God's sake!"

Now you may be on the same boat as me but I'd like to reassure you with two things. One is that the greater your potential the longer it takes to fully potentiate your potential and master it.

Let's imagine a bow with a string and say that your potential is the elasticity of the string. We all know that some strings are more elastic than others and some not, but the point is that the farther it goes back (aka the greater your potential) the longer it takes to pull it all the way back before you can release the arrow. Yes, some people may have gotten to a point where they are freely releasing their arrows and you are still in the stage of pulling back that string. But as long as you keep working at it, you will ultimately reach the end point of pulling back that string and you will be able to release the arrow with incomparable power and strength. The point is to be patient and keep working at it and believe in yourself. I'd like to remind you again that indeed the process will be very very frustrating.

Another point I want to address is that there is a reason why you haven't yet potentiated yourself, whether it be due to certain circumstances or your inability to focus on one thing at a time. Whatever the reason, you gotta put your trust in God that your time to unleash will come when God deems it a good time to do so.

I, for instance, realized that God has put me in circumstances where I could not improve myself at the rate I wanted to (due to financial reasons, my weak mentality, lack of knowledge, familial hardships) because he knew very well that if I had reached the level I desired early on that I would have my ego and pride grow within me and that I would become the cockiest, most arrogant, and ungrateful human being who not only turns away from God who's granted me everything but also who treats others with no respect nor love. My God knew that early potentiation would ruin me, destroy me and kill me. So I want to emphasize that there is always a reason for where you are right now. You may not be satisfied where you are, but trust in the Lord, and keep working at it and you will shine when God deems it the right time to do so. You will shine when God has fully prepared you. So the next time you are frustrated that you aren't getting better at something, be grateful that such is the case because early potentiation could've instead harmed your or destroyed you.
